2023 has been an eventful year with Bonnie starting a new job (and getting a promotion!), Evabell finishing out Kindergarten and starting First Grade, and Chris just trying to keep up! We celebrated birthdays, took trips to the mountains and beach, and spent time with family and friends (never enough though!). Here’s a look back at some of those events –
January 1
Started 2023 off right with great food, marzipan pig sculpting, and, of course, making lots of noise at midnight!
January 27
Awards Day! Evabell has been excelling at her first year of school. Some of the awards she took home include the Citizenship Award and Super Reader Award.
February 7
100 days of kindergarten. Time is flying by, and Evabell is getting “old”!
March 2
Evabell had her artwork selected for display in the art show!
March 17
For St. Patrick’s Day, Evabell wore lots of green and rainbows, and made a leprechaun trap. Unfortunately, the leprechaun was too clever and got away.
May 15
Six years old! Evabell celebrated her birthday with friends and family. She is developing into such a wonderful human. She is a great leader and friend, is talented in music, dance and art, and is learning to set and accomplish her own goals.
June 8
Kindergarten Graduation. Evabell has excelled at school this year – learning so much and making so many friends. Now for a short break before First Grade!
June 10
Evabell had her first dance recital – A Winter Waltz. She’s been practicing all year and she did a great job! So happy our family got to be there.
June 11-18
A trip to the mountains with Grandma and Papa! A busy week filled with adventure – playing in the creek, hiking, fire building, wonderful views, and science. But best of all – spending quality time with family.
June 25
Evabell got holes in her ears! She was very brave and loves the sparkly earrings she picked herself.
July 9-13
Bonnie went to Salt Lake City for her first work summit. She experienced lots of learning, networking and fun. She’s looking forward to the next one in January!
July 23-29
A trip to Gatlinburg, TN. Fun was had with family – celebrating O.G.’s 60th B-day, exploring the town, watching a pirate show, and hiking to a waterfall. It’s been a busy summer!
August 28
First day of first grade!
September 4 & 24
Chris and Bonnie celebrate another year. They’re no longer keeping track of the numbers though.
September 19
Evabell lost her first tooth! She kept it for about a month before trading it to the tooth fairy for some treasure.
October 26-29
Bonnie and her friends headed off to the mountains for a girl’s trip. They had fun doing yoga, gem mining, and printmaking. It was a wonderful time to destress and nurture friendships.
October 31
Happy Halloween! Our family celebrates the spooky holiday all month long. Evabell wore several costumes this month – Pumpkin, Wednesday Addams, and a Skeleton. We visited a haunted house, carved pumpkins and went trick-or-treating of course!
November
Bonnie earned a promotion at work and is now a programmatic media manager. We are so proud of her!
December
As the year comes to a close, we are looking forward to spending Christmas with family and ringing in the New Year once more!
2024 - Here we come!
Another eventful year for our family is in the books and now we toward the future. Stay tuned for more chapters in our family’s great adventure.
