Wow! This has been a busy and eventful year for our family. Looking back, it’s hard to believe we packed so much into one year! Some of the big highlights include Evabell starting Kindergarten (she loves it!), and Bonnie starting an exciting new career in digital marketing. In addition to starting Kindergarten this year, Evabell also enrolled in dance and music classes. We also did some fun traveling too; spending time with family in Elko, NV, Salt Lake City, UT, Tybee Island, GA, Savannah, GA, and Pensacola, FL.
January 1
We rang in the new year with Mimi, O.G., Cat, and Ashley. The festivities included fireworks, marzipan pig sculpting, and a visit from Slushy Clause. What a great start to 2022!
January 21
Snow! Evabell loves snow days. Bonnie and Chris? Not as much. But we love to see her excitement.
February 14
Evabell made homemade Valentine cards this year, and Chris showered Bonnie with adoration.
March 13
Chris celebrated his 5 Year work anniversary at the UNC-CH Adams School of Dentistry!
April 23
We attended the Harnett County Kinderpalooza to obtain information about Evabell’s upcoming school year.
May 14- 18
We visited Tybee Island and Savannah, GA with Mimi, O.G., Cat, Josh, Ashley, Kim, and Margaret. It was a blast! We had lots of fun exploring historic Savannah, hanging out at the beach, eating tasty food, celebrating Evabell’s 5th birthday, and having the chance to relax a bit and enjoy spending time with family. The only negative? A traumatic run-in with an oyster bed at the end of our trip! Otherwise, it was great fun!
May 19
After 2 long years, Taco Bell brought back the Mexican Pizza! Chris was very excited.
May 21-28
We followed up our Georgia trip with a visit to our family out west in Elko, NV. This was Evabell’s first time on a plane! We had a blast spending time with Papa, Grandma, Mandy, Robert, and the cousins. We explored the Bonneville Salt Flats, Lamoille Canyon, and the Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake City, UT. We celebrated Evabell’s birthday (again!), and Chris enjoyed his first-time experiences at Taco Time and Jack in the Box. The best part was the quality time spent with our family!
July 23
Bonnie and Chris made a really tasty vegan McRib. This thing was awesome. One of Chris’ fondest memories of 2022. That’s why it’s on this list.
August 30
Evabell’s first day of Kindergarten! She’s really enjoyed her first semester of school – learning her letters and numbers, starting to read and do math, and making so many new friends! She is at the top of her class receiving awards such as Best All Around Student, Student of the Month, and the Media Award.
September
Bonnie and Chris celebrated birthdays – 36 for Chris and 29 for Bonnie (again!)
October 5
5 Years of marriage! The time has flown by – it seems like yesterday we were just beginning this amazing adventure. Now, with a few years of shared experiences, teamwork, and lots of love, the adventure continues, and we’re excited to see where it takes us!
October 23
We returned this year to Naylor Family Farm to pick our pumpkins and explore all the fun activities they have. We were so busy this fall that we almost didn’t go, but we are so glad we did!
October 31
Halloween – Bonnie and Evabell’s favorite holiday – was unfortunately disrupted by a nasty case of the flu! We made the best of a bad situation, spending time at home carving pumpkins, and trick-or-treating room-to-room.
November 7
Bonnie started an exciting new job in digital marketing. It hasn’t been easy as she juggles her demanding schedule, but she is excelling nonetheless! (Check out her portfolio here)
November 29
A day spent stuffing our bellies with great food prepared expertly by Bonnie and sharing the many things we are thankful for.
December
As the year winds down, we look forward to spending the holiday season at home with our family and celebrating what really matters – the time we spend with the ones we love.
Looking Forward to 2023
After an exciting and eventful year, we are looking toward the new year with great anticipation. Evabell will be finishing Kindergarten and starting 1st grade, Bonnie will be progressing in her new career, and Chris will be looking forward to whatever the mad geniuses at the Taco Bell test kitchen can dream up next! Stay tuned for more chapters in our family’s great adventure.
